![]() ![]() The knowing part its quite simple, there more you know the more you realize you don't use the following as an example " you know there is something beyond earth: then you got suns planets, subspace, gravity, blackholes, galaxies, universe, potential multiverse, other life forms." so by knowing that beyond earth is you Found out you don't know s**t. Well first discipline is not something you are born with and it usually takes about 10 years to master something, so if you practice discipline for 10 years your more like get that freedom your looking for by being able to priorities the use of your resources having a easier time to take an action because you are more in control, plus the carrots you chose to chase become more stable and passes the test of time and trial by fire. Which isn't much different from being controlled by someone else and being unable to do anything about it. And if you can't get yourself to do what you need to do, then you are weak and have no self control. If you can't resist any urges, then you're a slave to them. And being able to do what you really want to do at all times and abstain from things you don't want in your life equals freedom. Which means you can use that willpower now for other things. And what that means is that you no longer have to rely on willpower to do what you know you should do every day. So eliminating the easy ways to fail is important.īut as you gain momentum and a new habit starts to develop, sticking to it eventually becomes automatic. Unless you go out of your way to buy some, but that requires more effort and gives you more time to come to your senses again. But to stick with it you need willpower and ideally you should look for ways to make things inevitable: If there's no junk food in your house, then you can't eat any. So getting started with something is easy if you're motivated. It's about building habits that when they are so deeply ingrained, it will eventually be easier for you to stick to your routine than to deviate from it. If you can't see why that would be a very important skill to have, then nobody is likely to convince you of its value.Īnything you do requires consistent work, so you can't rely on willpower. Not what you feel like doing right now but what you know you should do, what is best for you, consistently. Having discipline means being able to do what you really want to do. r/personalgrowthchannel (personal and professional growth) r/KaizenBrotherhood (self improvement, being your best self) ![]() r/GoodbyeDepression (overcome depression) r/DecidingToBeBetter (self motivation/self improvement) Have some feedback for us?
